CLASS 08 | APRIL 03 | YOUR RESEARCH
CLASS FOCUS
Identifying your personal area of design research/expertise, gaining an understanding of the community who is evolving understanding, knowledge, and thinking on the subject through conferences, publications, listservs, etc.
WORKSHOP:
10:00 - 12:00: Karen Baxter, Managing librarian for Film Services and the Moving Image Collection; Images Services and the Visual Resource Collection. In this workshop we'll survey the tools and resources to help identify the status of your research interest and the community that is evolving new understandings, knowledge, and thinking through conferences, writing, design projects, etc.
During the workshop you'll be working towards the shaping of a quasi-literature review. This review is really just list of resources and a paragraph describing your sense of where things stand on the research topic. Note the assignment due next week.
